About the Dance

A freeform conscious dance where there is no right or wrong, no set moves and no talking. Experience a safe space to release your inner dancer, to move like no one is watching, to dance the dance only you can dance.

Dancing Dhevas is alcohol free, drug free and smoke free.

On the dance floor there is no talking, no shoes, no phones and no judgement, we respect each other and ourselves.

Riding the waves of music we dance to free ourselves of tension and habits, finding new ways to move and express, giving us insight into what restricts us in daily life. The process is to uncover your own individual, original dance, it is so unique to you and how you move that it can not be reproduced by anyone else. This gives the freedom from constraints and judgements so you can explode your potential to move until it unleashes the dancer within. The room takes on a different energy as everyone drops into their dance and natural ecstasy is reached.

Music will be played to facilitate a deep experience, from dance club music to classical, folk to experimental. In this way the music becomes our greatest teacher.

The conscious dance community welcomes everyone, gender, colour, ability and sexual orientation. We dance for joy, to move pain, to feel anger and sadness, to connect and to disconnect. To feel whole again.

Words can not do justice to a language written in your body, hit the dance floor to find out more!

How to prepare.

Bring a water bottle and maybe a sweat towel, wear comfortable clothing you can move and sweat in.

Don’t eat a heavy meal before hand, your best dances will be on an empty stomach.

Come for the warm up! There is a time before the doors shut where you can stretch, relax and settle into the space. This is precious ‘you’ time use it as preparation for your dance.

We dance bare foot, shoes carry a plethora of bacteria and we like to sit, lie, roll around on the clean dance floor. It also means your feet get a chance to open up, stretch and feel the floor.

Turn off phones, turn off talking and turn up to your dance.
