Deep Winter Dance ~ A Seasonal Immersion

  • North Fremantle Community Hall 2 Thompson Road North Fremantle, WA, 6159 Australia (map)

with Open Floor teachers Patricia Roux and Megan Riley

Winter invites us to slow down, rest, and reflect. A season for taking stock, leaning inward, and listening deeply. This Open Floor conscious dance immersion offers a cosy cocoon to harvest the wisdom of winter.

Warm your body, mind, and soul with the support of community, soulfully curated soundscapes, reflective practices including free-flow writing and gentle creative exploration and, of course, dance.

The afternoon will unfold as a mini-retreat, inviting you to slow down, move, rest, and play — a space for transformation, curiosity, and listening to what wants to be nurtured within, while planting seeds for the seasons to come.

“Warming your bones and stirring the muse. Ready to dance you through the fertile darkness.” — from Winter by Gina Puorro

About your facilitators:

Patricia is a mother, dancer, yoga and meditation teacher who has been practising mindful movement and conscious dance for over 15 years. Together with her husband, Theva Indrasenan, they run Dancing Dhevas, offering conscious dance classes, workshops, and retreats in Western Australia and Bali. A certified Open Floor teacher, Patricia brings a unique and grounded approach shaped by the exploration of diverse somatic modalities and a deep love for embodied mindfulness. Her classes offer space to arrive fully in the body, move freely, and listen to what’s alive within.

Meg is a creative, mother, teacher, and lifelong student. With a background in commercial creativity and choreographed dance, she found conscious dance on an island off the coast of BC, Canada, 10 years ago — sparking a deep love of free-form movement. Now an Open Floor movement teacher and post-graduate student of Creative Arts Therapies, she’s passionate about exploring how her inner creative landscape translates to the outside world, and supporting others to do the same.

About Open Floor:

Open Floor is a resource-based movement practice. We explore new ways of moving and responding to what is happening with intention and purpose. We learn to understand our habits and patterns for deeper insight and self-awareness. The more we embody different responses in our movements, the more resources we can call on to move through life with flexibility, resilience and ease.
