WINTER SOLSTICE ECSTATIC DANCE
Into the Long Night

There is a night each year when the Earth exhales.

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year — a sacred turning point when darkness reaches its fullest expression before the slow return of the light. The solstice culminates on Sunday evening, So we will be dancing towards this pinnacle.

Across cultures and centuries, this threshold has been honoured as a time of reflection, renewal, and quiet celebration. A moment to pause, gather close, and listen for what is stirring beneath the surface.

On this special night we come together in dance.

Through an immersive ecstatic dance journey, we will move with the themes of winter: stillness and fire, surrender and resilience, endings and beginnings. We dance what is ready to be released, what wishes to be remembered, and what quietly waits to emerge in the season ahead.

No choreography. No experience required.

Simply bring your body, your curiosity, and your willingness to move.

Expect a carefully crafted musical journey weaving earthy rhythms, deep bass, tribal beats, organic soundscapes, and moments of spaciousness, inviting both inward reflection and joyful expression.

Together we honour the darkness not as something to overcome, but as a fertile space of rest, mystery, pause and transformation.

As the night deepens, we gather as a tribe around an invisible hearth, weaving our individual journeys into a shared ceremony of movement, presence, and connection.

No one to impress, no agenda to attend to.

Just the ancient medicine of music, rhythm, and a room full of bodies remembering how to belong.

The invitation:
✧ Release what has completed its cycle
✧ Honour the wisdom carried through the dark
✧ Tend the ember of your inner fire
✧ Welcome the returning light
✧ Dance in community at the turning of the wheel

The longest night is not the end of the story.

It is the place where the next story begins.

Come tend the fire.

Come dance your dance.

NEW TO DANCING DHEVAS...

The ecstatic dance is a process of delving into your own individual, original dance, it is so unique to you and how you move that it can not be reproduced by anyone else. This gives us the freedom from constraints and judgements so we can explode our potential to move until it unleashes the dancer within. The room takes on a different energy as everyone drops into their dance and natural ecstasy is reached.

We have been teaching Conscious dance in WA for 14 years, trained in various modalities and taught numerous classes, workshops and retreats. The essence never changes, the purity and simplicity humbles us each time we step onto the dance floor and we are ever grateful to the community around us and the earth that holds us.

This event is not suitable for kids (18+)

We acknowledge and pay respect to the custodians of this land, the Whadjuk Noongar.
