Common Unity Ecstatic Dance – A Community Gathering

We begin this dance by acknowledging the First Nations peoples of Australia, the original custodians of this land. We honour their elders past, present, and emerging, and we offer our deep respect to the land that holds us as we journey through our inner landscapes in movement.

At this moment in time, as the global stage witnesses rising conflict, division, and unrest, we extend this dance beyond borders. We dance with and for First Nations peoples everywhere, in recognition of shared ancestry, resilience, and wisdom that lives in the body and the earth.

There is a Common Unity within us all — a living thread that binds us to one another.

Conscious dance is an invitation to move mindfully, without words, without performance. It is a practice of releasing judgement and arriving fully in the present moment. The dance floor becomes a safe and sacred space where division dissolves and our shared humanity is remembered. Here, all personalities are welcome, woven into one collective consciousness.

This is a tribal dance. A primal dance. A dance rooted in ancestry — shared with your cousins on the floor of life. The music will travel across cultures and rhythms, moving from slow to fast and back again, guiding us through warming, integration, acceleration, peak, and rest — into stillness and bliss. Tonight, the soundscape is inspired by our Indigenous brothers and sisters, here and across the world.

This gathering is also held in support of the call for One Day — a day for all Australians to come together in truth, respect, and unity. A day that invites healing and shared celebration, and offers a step toward reconciling our divided nation.

We dance for remembrance.
We dance for unity.
We dance together.

We dance in solidarity with Indigenous peoples everywhere, and in support of the call for One Day — a day for all Australians to unite in truth, respect, and shared celebration.

No right or wrong and no set moves, open up to a world of possibilities

First Time at Dancing Dhevas?

Dancing Dhevas is a free-form conscious dance practice that invites you to move as only you can — with authenticity, curiosity, and freedom. It’s an opportunity to let go of judgement and discover a dance that is uniquely yours, one that can’t be copied or performed.

Conscious dance is an active meditation. As each person drops into their own movement, the room shifts — energy builds, barriers soften, and natural ecstasy emerges. There’s no right or wrong way to dance, only presence.

Come as you are, or bring a friend. We share the floor with like-minded souls, moving together and celebrating life in all its complexity, moment by moment.

What to know:

  • Bring a water bottle

  • We dance barefoot to ground and connect with the body

  • No talking on the dance floor — if you need to speak, please step outside the hall

  • This is a strictly alcohol-free, drug-free, and smoke-free event
